Technology Support Specialist

Groupe SM Tardif is looking for a Technology Support Specialist to join its IT team. Your role will be to solve IT problems, document solutions and support our employees by dynamically sharing your knowledge while knowing how to popularize it. You’ll also be responsible for maintaining and updating users’ IT equipment and working with the system administrator to keep our infrastructures in top shape.

Profile sought

  • DEC or AEC in Computer Science (less formal education can be compensated by more experience related to the position).
  • At least 1 year of experience in the functions proposed.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and document computer problems.
  • In-depth knowledge of operating systems such as Windows, Linux, and the Apple ecosystem, as well as enterprise applications such as M365.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be available for on-call duty as required.
  • Demonstrate the ability to speak and write excellent French and understand English at a technical level.
  • 100% face-to-face position from 8am to 4:30pm.

Roles and responsabilities

  • Provide quality and rigorous technical support to all the company’s users, responding to helpdesk tickets and sometimes solving more complex IT problems, carefully documenting follow-ups and solutions.
  • Provide training on the main applications such as M365 (Sharepoint, Teams…) and create reusable capsules.
  • Maintain and update user IT equipment.
  • Work with IT team members to solve complex problems and implement projects.
  • Contribute to relationships with external IT service providers.
  • Participate in the IT equipment acquisition process.
  • Apply your experience to operational processes to make them better and more efficient, and implement automation solutions to make them faster.
  • Participate in any other activities related to IT operations.
