Process Mechanic Technician

Do you enjoy new challenges and solving problems? Are you a team player? Do you like working on the road and outdoors? SM Construction is looking for a Process Mechanic Technician to join its Bulk Oil Depot Service, Maintenance and Calibration Department.

This department specializes in the maintenance and repair of mechanical and electronic equipment used in the petroleum industry. We provide our clients with turnkey management programs to take care of all preventive maintenance follow-up and ensure that the equipment is in compliance.

Here are some of the main equipment we maintain: loading arms, measurement chambers, manual or motorized valves, electronic or mechanical measurement control systems, inventory management systems, MALT systems, hydrocarbon tanks and separators, piping, special processes for aviation, etc.

Profile sought

  • DEC in building mechanics or mechanical engineering, electromechanical training or other related training;
  • Minimum of 2-3 years experience in mechanical maintenance and operations;
  • Weights and Measures Canada authorized technician certification, a plus;
  • Experience in planned and corrective maintenance of electromechanical systems, an asset;
  • Ability to read electromechanical schematics and controls, a plus;
  • Enjoy teamwork;
  • Be self-motivated, organized, responsible and efficient;
  • Excellent customer service skills;
  • Possess good stress tolerance to handle a high volume of service calls;
  • Demonstrate professionalism.

Roles and responsabilities

  • Respond to customer requests on a daily basis to help them resolve various issues;
  • Provide telephone assistance in finding solutions prior to the service call, when applicable;
  • Participate with the service provider’s supervisor in the resolution of specific problems and the continuous improvement of activities related to all equipment;
  • Perform end-of-job follow-up to identify root causes and track deferred maintenance;
  • Research new product offerings;
  • Manage and maintain appropriate inventory;
  • Participate in the preparation of technical reports and specifications;
  • Write various documents related to the procedures and operating methods of our systems;
  • Prepare monthly reports;
  • Participate in the preparation of training materials.
