This project involved dismantling the three existing chillers at Université Laval’s chilled-water plant in order to replace them with two new 1,334-ton chillers and two additional 1,416-ton units. As part of this upgrade, the network pumps were completely renewed with the installation of three new 400-HP pumps. Finally, all associated piping was rebuilt.
Pagui acted as the general contractor for this project, overseeing all work. Our teams handled the plumbing and electrical installations, while control and automation were managed by a specialized subcontractor.
Removing the existing chillers, each weighing 100,000 lb, as well as handling the new 50,000 lb units, presented major logistical challenges. These operations required detailed planning and rigorous resource management.
